First generation
The company released the first model of the popular Bongo van back in 1980. The first cars that rolled off the assembly line in 1980 have a distinctive feature - round headlights. After 1981, the van received rectangular optics. The cars were equipped with a 2.2-liter engine and 70 horsepower, later for the first generation they made a 1.4-liter modification and a 2.4-liter diesel version and 80 horses. The first generation was produced from 1980 to 1993.
Second generation
The company began producing the second generation in 1989, while the production of the first generation did not stop. The van, which was made at the Bongo base, was named Besta. In the future, this was also the name of the KIA truck. The 1992 models received a new 2.7-liter petrol unit. 1995 brought a restyling to the famous car, after which the cars began to be exported as KIA K2700 and K2400, respectively, with 2.7 and 2.4 liter engines.
Third generation
In 1997, the production of the third generation of KIA vans began. The cars were equipped with an 80-horsepower 2.7-liter JS engine or a 3-liter unit for 90 horses. The third generation was produced from 1997 to 2005. The models that rolled off the assembly line after 2000 were distinguished by new radiator grilles and modified optics.
Fourth generation
The latest generation of KIA Bongo 3 is known in our market as a "donkey". Numerous test drives have shown that the van turned out to be a real truck, despite its size. This model can be produced with a pickup, refrigerator, awning or manufactured goods van body type. All variants are equipped with a powerful 4-cylinder 16-valve engine and an all-wheel drive transmission.
