The order of the work.
Fault diagnosis begins with interrogating the driver. If possible, you should get yourself a general picture of the problem, ask the following questions:
- symptoms of malfunction
- under what conditions does the malfunction appear
- how often the malfunction occurs
- does the warning light come on
- does the warning light turn off by itself
- whether the driver erased the trouble codes
Then read all fault codes (using the diagnostic lamp or “Scania Diagnos”). Match the codes and try to infer the possible cause of the problem before taking any action. Fault codes are stored in the order in which they appeared.
Flashing codes & Fault code
Here is a list of the flashing trouble codes that can be read. The main difference between EDC S6 and EDC is that the same code can be responsible for several faults.

Erasing fault codes.
The memory can store up to 40 fault codes.
Fault codes are stored in two different registers of the control unit. The diagnostic switch button can erase the codes readable by the diagnostic lamp. Scania Diagnos allows you to erase codes from both registers.
When performing D-service, the codes must be erased by the “Scania Diagnos” software.
