John Deere is a leading manufacturer of agricultural machinery
The founder of the company, John Deere was born in 1804 in Vermont, the son of the tailor William Reynold Deere. In 1808, the head of the family will forever sail away from his native shores to England and break the thread between generations.
The boy's father will be replaced by Benjamin Lawrence, a blacksmith from Magdeburg, who will take a seventeen-year-old boy as his assistant. For four years, from 1825 to 1829, the capable student will take over the work of his mentor as an apprentice.
Young John Deere
Our hero will start an independent ascent in the state of Illinois, where he will open his own smithy. In 1837, John Deere, received his first patent for the invention of a steel plow. Its unusual curved design makes it easier to work on the viscous soil of these places (before him, these plows were made even and of cast iron). By 1847, John Deere's company will produce about 1,000 plows annually.
1848-1850 - Promising manufacturing moves to Moline, Illinois. This place would later be called the "John Deere Kingdom" and the company would first be called "Deere, Tate & Gould". And over the next 16 years, the rebranding will accompany the company: John Deere, John Deere & Company, Deere & Company, Moline Plow Manufactory.
Charles Deere
1853-1858 - Deere's only son, 16-year-old Charles, joins the company as an accountant immediately after graduating from the College of Commerce in Chicago. Over time, Charles will succeed his father and at the age of 21 will lead the company. Under his leadership, the company will grow and strengthen for 49 years.
1868 - 1873 - a distance of more than thirty years can be considered the period of the company's formation, all this time it existed in the form of individual entrepreneurship. The concern was officially registered under the name "Deere & Company", the majority shareholding of 65% belonged to Charles and John Deere.
In 1873, John Deere was elected Mayor of Molina and remained in office for two years. In a small town, the company is the main employer, generator of culture and even lifestyle. Branded shops, an exhibition hall for events with a museum, social infrastructure facilities were built with funding from John Deere.
1875-1880 Gilpin Moore creates a plow with wheels and a seat. This invention eliminated the need to go after the plow by replacing all farmers in chairs, and became one of the most successful products of the company in the 19th century. In 1880, agricultural machinery under the John Deere brand was introduced to the endless fields of the Russian Empire. At the beginning of the twentieth century, cooperation will continue, but with another state.

The trademark, which was registered in 1876, deserves special attention. The image of a deer jumping over a log is no coincidence, the beast is close in spirit to John Deere. that is, consonant with the name of John Deere. It is also amusing that initially the stamp was mistakenly depicting a deer that lives exclusively in Africa.

1886 Founding father John Deere dies in Moline at the age of 82. The Dirov family dynasty will be completed by Charles' son-in-law William A. Hewitt, who headed the company for 27 years until 1982. This stage is one of the largest periods of growth. John Deere will become the world's leading manufacturer of agricultural machinery and a major manufacturer of construction, forestry and lawn maintenance equipment.
1907 Charles Deere dies. The company is establishing a non-contributory pension plan for those employees who have worked for the company for 20 years or more and who are 65 years of age or older.
1997-2007 - Overseas sales exceed the $ 3 billion mark - more than the company's total sales prior to the mid-1970s. The network of offices in the global market expands, John Deere Landscapes becomes the number one wholesale distributor of irrigation, incubator, lighting and landscape equipment in the United States.
To date, John Deere has produced over eight million engines under its brand name.
