Hino Motors

Since 1966, Hino Motors has been a member of the Toyota Motor Corporation alliance. Ergonomic design and state-of-the-art engineering are reflected in every product in the Toyota Group line, including Hino trucks.

At the Hino production facility in Japan, Toyota vehicles are assembled, in particular, the Land Cruiser Prado crossover and the two-ton Dyna and Toyoace trucks.

Start of mass production of cars in Japan.

1942 g.

Change of company name to Hino Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and the beginning of the production of military tracked vehicles.

1950 g.

After a series of changes, the company was renamed Hino Diesel Industry Co., Ltd.

Start of sales of large diesel trucks and buses

The world's first trolleybus - HINO.

1953 g.

Hino-Renault Sales Co., Ltd. is established in cooperation with car manufacturer RENAULT (France).

The first bus with an underfloor engine goes into operation in Japan.

The first overseas sales unit in Thailand (Hino Motors Sales (Thailand) Ltd.) is established.

Production of the HINO Ranger begins (overseas markets for the HINO 500).

Hino Motors, Ltd. and Hino Motor Sales, Ltd. are part of an alliance with TOYOTA Corporation.

1977 year

HINO produces the first coach.

1988 year

The sales of HINO Ranger trucks in the Japanese market reach 500,000 units.

1991 year

World's first HINO electric-diesel hybrid bus goes on sale.

The company's car participates in the Dakar Rally for the first time and reaches the finish line.

1999 year

Merger of Hino Motors Ltd. with Hino Motors Sales, Ltd. and renaming the company to Hino Motors, Ltd.

Start of production of the updated HINO Dutro series (in overseas markets HINO 300).

2001 year

Hino Motors Ltd. becomes a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation with over 50% of Toyota Motor.

2004 r.

The updated low-emission HINO Ranger Hybrid is being launched.

2007 year

For the first time, overseas sales exceed domestic sales in Japan.

The total number of exported cars reaches 1,000,000 units.

Establishment of a sales division of Hino Motors Sales LLC in Russia.

The updated HINO 300 series light vehicle is released.

A new state-of-the-art factory inaugurated in Koga, Ibaraki Prefecture.

Trial operation of the HINO 300 series electric trucks has begun.
